Welcome

Welcome to the website for the Lower Nemahbin Lake Association.

LNLA Mission Statement:  To help preserve, protect and improve the environmental

Quality of our lake and surrounding watershed for all generations

News from the LNLA Board

-The website is up and running thanks to the time and talents of web designer Ted Eull,

Steve Mellone (Sugar Island) and Dean Parra (Point View Rd).

If anyone has ideas or information for the website please contact Dean using the contact form.

We are also looking for photographs of the lake; different areas, seasons or activities to

display on the website.

-Work has begun on monitoring the water levels on our lake on a year-round basis.

According to Michelle Schneider; (Water Mngmt. Engineer,DNR Southeast region) the

Delafield dam has operating parameters for water levels of which daily records kept.   If

anyone would like to help with monitoring, please call Forbes Hotchkiss, Waterville Rd.

- LNLA board president, Mike Nevins, has been attending the Town of Summit board

meetings.  The following item is of special interest to our lake:

The former Breezeland Association, now Nemahbin Advancement Assoc., is the

legal owner of the weir dam at Highway P.    The Namamhbin Advancement Association has asked the Town of Summit to

take over ownership of the weir.   This can be followed on the Town of Summit

website at the minutes for board meetings.

Planning continues for the replacement of the weir dam at the outlet of the Lake, at Sawyer Road.  See the “Sawyer Road Dam” section of the website for an update from the County’s Project Manager

-Be sure to check the link for Wisconsin Association of Lakes since a change in wake laws has occurred.  Starting in 2010 the ‘no wake’ area will be 100’ from shore.

–If you would like to join the lake association, please contact Barb Hotchkiss or John Eull. (Use the contact form on this site if needed.)

The LNLA board looks forward to hearing from our lake neighbors;

Betty Nevins, Member-at-large
